2019 LWBJ Impact Award presented to Ames Seed Capital

Des Moines, April 12, 2019 – As Presenting Sponsor of the Iowa Technology Association’s 14th Annual Prometheus Awards, LWBJ Managing Partner Paul Juffer and Tax Manager Kyle Woiwood were honored to present Ames Seed Capital with the 2019 LWBJ Impact Award at Thursday night’s sold-out ceremony in Des Moines.

The LWBJ Impact Award recognizes outstanding individuals or organizations who have made a significant impact on the growth, success and sustainability of Iowa’s technology culture and industry.

In presenting the award to Dan Culhane and Ron Hallenbeck of the Ames Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Juffer noted, “Ames Seed Capital was created by the Ames Economic Development Commission to provide equity financing for business startups and expansions. When it was established in 1987, its focus was young companies located in the ISU Research Park, and it has been a key driver in the Park’s success.

“But it has also expanded to serve companies across Story County – including many past Prometheus Award winners, such as Workiva, New Link Genetics, Harrisvaccines, Advanced Analytical Technologies, Power Pullen/Accelerated Ag and others.

“Ames Seed Capital is unquestionably making a significant impact on the growth, success and sustainability of Iowa’s technology culture and industry, as well as the economic fortunes of Ames and Central Iowa. It is with great pleasure that we present this award to Dan, Ron and the entire Ames Seed Capital team.”

The Prometheus Awards celebrate Iowa’s brightest technology innovators and entrepreneurs. This year’s awards were presented before an audience of more than 1,000 Iowa business and technology leaders at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center.
