2018 LWBJ Impact Award presented to Next Level Ventures

Des Moines, April 13, 2018 – As Presenting Sponsor of the Iowa Technology Association’s 13th Annual Prometheus Awards, LWBJ Senior Partners Dave Hove and JD Geneser were honored to present Next Level Ventures with the 2018 LWBJ Impact Award at Thursday night’s ceremony in Des Moines.

The LWBJ Impact Award recognizes outstanding individuals or organizations who have made a significant impact to the growth, success and sustainability of Iowa’s technology culture and industry.

In presenting the award to Craig Ibsen, Managing Principal of Next Level, Mr. Geneser noted, “Since launching in 2014, Next Level has raised $40 million to invest exclusively in Iowa technology companies. To date, Next Level has invested $26 million in 11 Iowa-based companies. Following these initial investments, Next Level portfolio companies have attracted more than $50 million in additional co-investments, produced annual revenues exceeding $54 million, and generated more than 100 new Iowa jobs paying twice the median wage.

“In addition, Next Level co-founded the Iowa Venture Capital Fund – a nonprofit organization with 20 investing entities who influence and contribute to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Iowa. Many of the people and companies here, tonight, have benefitted from the Next Level’s work. And we are pleased to present this award to Craig and the entire Next Level team.”

The Prometheus Awards celebrate Iowa’s brightest technology innovators and entrepreneurs. This year’s awards were presented before an audience of nearly 1,000 Iowa business and technology leaders at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center.
